Will official Christian Bale's web site work again?
, August 13, 2003

Recently in our news we had supposed that there was some conflict between Bale and Harrison Cheung, who have been supporting Bale's official site for a long time. Our supposition was founded on some facts. Particularly, afore mentioned site is 'under construction' more than a year. And recently Harrison Cheung spoke hugely sharp of praising article about Bale from OregonLive.com. Namely he had advised the writer to differ 'image' and 'real person'. In substance, it was hint that Bale is not so good as press reports. But friends (or especially imagemakers!) usually avoid such hints.

We asked our visitors who know something about it to share with us this information. Soon we've received the letter. Our correspondent asserted that a year ago Bale did really stop to be a client of Cheung's company because of financial disagreements, and since that time they are in the bad relationships.

But Harrison Cheung (who was asked by us to clarify this situation) fully denies the existence of any conflict. He said he wrote to OregonLive.com because the praising article about Bale 'stepped over the bounds of journalistic integrity and good taste'. 'The article decided to paint Christian as 'perfection' and they listed a number of attributes which no longer apply to Christian. For example, he is not a vegetarian and he no longer is involved with animal rights charities' Mr.Cheung wrote. 'The point of my letter was to rebuke the writer for writing something without doing what he was supposed to do - report! Ask the questions) to see if the information still applies or is out of date - that's what a reporter is supposed to do. The other point of my letter was to remind people not to put actors up on pedastals - they are just people with very public jobs and it is very dangerous to call anyone 'perfection'.

On our question "Will Bale's official site work again?' Harrison Cheung answered it is quite possible but when and in what form, he doesn't know because he 'is busy with his other clients and Christian is no longer interested in the Internet as a medium'.

Concerning rumours and someone's statements about possible conflict he said 'It' s just rumours'. 'Internet fans are understandably disappointed with the absence of Christian's official site but that's hardly any reason for negative rumors', he wrote. 'The CBFC still exists and the fan lists still exist. The fan community is going strong for almost 10 years!'
